Look no further.

Shaikh Al-Albani’s (rahimahullah) ‘Manasik Al-Hajj wal-Umrah’ (The Rites of Hajj and Umrah) is the book that you’re looking for. You can read it online here.

He’s also added an appendix entitled ‘Innovations of Hajj and Umrah and Visiting Madinah’ which you can read online here.

For those who wish to have a pocket-sized summary of this book containing the duas for Hajj and Umrah, please check this post on my other blog. The pocket guide has been translated into three languages: English, French and Urdu.

Free Online Hajj Course by KIU

Here’s a great offer:

Study a famous (and easy to read) book on Hajj under a real scholar* in English.

[Yes, real scholars are few and far between. Not every “shaikh” is a scholar.]

Oh and it’s free.

The book being taught is Manhaj As-Saalikeen by Imam As-Saadi (rahimahullah). The explanation is by Shaikh Saad Ash-Shetry, one of the senior scholars in Saudia Arabia.

The course will be translated into English by Brother Sajid Umar.

Video: Official Hajj Safety Guide

I just found this extremely useful video on Hajj safety, alhamdulillah. It was produced by the Ministry of Hajj, may Allah reward them for the efforts they put into making the Hajj go smoothly for millions of Muslims.

It’s only 15 minutes long but it’s jam-packed with information. A must watch for all wannabe Hajjies.

Documentary: A Practical Guide to Performing Hajj

Here’s another nice documentary on how to perform Hajj. It was produced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj quite a few years ago.

Yes, some things are a bit different now (e.g. the size of the jamraat in Mina) but I think that it should still be a good guide for newbies, insha-Allah.
